FEES AND CHARGES FOR SERVICES TO GOVERNMENT AGENCIES
Effective 1 July 2017
The State Records Office charges for the handling, storage, retrieval and management of temporary and permanent records in its custody. These charges enable recovery of costs incurred by the State Records Office to carry out these functions.
The State Records Office charges fees for the following services to Government Agencies:
Transfer Services – a one-off fee for the receipt and handling of transfers of both temporary and permanent records.
Government Loans – fees for the retrieval of both temporary records and State archives for loan to government agencies. Overdue and late return fees apply for records not returned by the due date.
Storage Services – fees for the storage of temporary records. Fees are charged for storage per box for temporary records. The standard repository box for records stored at the Intermediate repository is Type 1. Fees for non-standard sized boxes apply.
An annual administrative fee is applied to those records that have not been disposed of by the due date stated in an agency’s Retention and Disposal Schedule. Agencies are encouraged to store temporary records only as long as their Retention and Disposal Schedule specifies unless there are valid business reasons otherwise.
