SRO SERVICES DURING COVID 19 RECOVERY

SRO SERVICES DURING COVID 19 RECOVERY

Due to COVID 19 precautions the SRO was closed to the public from 23rd March to mid May 2020, and from 19 May 2020 offered a limited number of appointments to researchers to view State Archives in the State Records Office.

From 20 July 2020 State Archives have been accessible in a co-located Reading Room on the 3rd floor of the State Library of WA in the Perth Cultural Centre. Original and microform copies of State Archives can be accessed in designated areas on the 3rd floor during normal State Library opening hours.

If you wish to discuss your research topic, are uncertain how to use the SRO’s catalogue, or need more in depth research assistance, you can send your query, or book an appointment to see an Archivist, by emailing sro@sro.wa.gov.au.

Requests for digital access to items from the State archives collection can be made via digitisation requests on our online catalogue.
